Whether we like it or not carpet is prone to getting moisture underneath and then that can cause mold to grow underneath. We all hate mold wherever it may be in the home and want to eradicate it as soon as we can. Leaving it there can produce adverse health effects to you and the whole family. Not to mention how dangerous it would be for babies crawling all around on carpet that has mold. Carpet Stretch and Rescue wants to help make sure your home is healthy for you and your family. Here are some of the signs that you need to look out for.
The first sign that you need to take note of is the smell. If you smell a musty odor in your home, then you definitely have to have your carpet checked for mold to make sure that it is not your carpet. The hardest part of this telltale sign though is that you’re always in your home, so it may be hard to recognize the smell. If you have company over and they comment on the smell of your home, don’t brush it off. Take it seriously and have your carpet investigated.
Another obvious sign is that you carpet has mold on it is if it has been damp for more than a day. That is when mold will begin to grow on your carpet. The first step you must take is to look at the source of where the water may be coming from. Afterwards you need to pull up the carpet and let both it and the pad dry properly. If at this point you see mold or smell it more pungently when you pull up the carpet and pad, then you know that you have some serious problems.
We aren’t mold mitigators, but we are able to help you after they have come through and help remedy the situation if you choose to only replace part of your carpet. However, many times people can save their carpet before it ever starts to get moldy. If this has happened with your carpet, then we can replace your pad if needed, or re-bond the existing pad and then re-tack the carpet. Call us or fill out the online request form today! We provide you with free estimates over the phone and can answer any questions you may have.
